Twenty-one years ago, Zealong Tea Estate's founder Vincent Cheng noticed a camellia tree thriving in his backyard. Inspired to produce tea in New Zealand, Vincent importing 1500 tea plants from Taiwan, only 130 tea plants survived.

Today, his vision has become a thriving reality. Nestled in the pure lush plains of the Waikato dairy farming region, is New Zealand̥s only commercially operating tea farm. The moist climate and dramatic fluctuations in temperature provide surprisingly favourable growing conditions to produce this Taiwanese style black tea.

Our Zealong Estate Premium Black Tea is lightly roasted, producing a sweet, savoury and slightly fruity tea with deep amber liquor, baked rhubarb and apple pie aroma, duplicated in taste with a hint of treacle.
